The vision board I created last summer was getting neglected since I had moved it away from my desk and into the dingy corner of my bedroom. Lately, I’ve made an effort to glance at it more often and one of the quotes has been on my mind…
“Be the reason someone believes in the goodness of people.”
I like it because it’s a very simple promise to keep. The use of “someone” suggests not only can it be anyone, but making one person’s day is an achievement. It’s enough. I’d like to think of it as a chain reaction too. I truly believe that negativity can spread and yet often forget that the same can occur with positivity.
Although I could never label a person “good” or “bad”, I take the word “goodness” to mean ‘kindness’ or the positive qualities that people possess. It’s a reminder to be mindful of the feelings of others and demonstrates how meaningful our interactions with one another are.
